In today’s modern day society, technology has innovated the way human beings communicate with each other. Whether it’s by phone, computer, and/or tv, obtaining information has become more accessible. Although there are many benefits of easily obtaining information from across the globe, we are also influenced by the things we see. Celebrities are the dominators for communicating information that can be powerful enough to influence one’s perspective and personality. Rap celebrities today have become a specific category in the media that send out bad messages to their audience by influencing them to make bad decisions. It has also depicted a false representation of what it means to be “cool” as an individual. Rappers are the key leaders responsible for influencing our generations to be involved with sex, drugs, violence, and money.

Rap music make kids believe that these things are acceptable and that there are no consequences for the actions somebody makes. For instance, the rapper Lil B makes a bad representation of what it is like to make money. In one of the verses to his song, “Wonton Soup” he says, ”Eat that wonton soup I got the cash like chang, chang, chang/Bitches suck my dick because I come like 36 ways."  He promotes the idea that with money, you can easily control women and have sex. With this in mind, boys will be more reluctant to cherish women for their beauty on the inside because they’d be more focused on the features of the body giving as though they are viewed as an object that you pay for pleasure. Not only does this have a bad influence on boys, but it also has a ripple effect on girls. Those who watch and hear lyrics about women giving pleasure for money can be manipulated to believe that their body is in fact a money machine. This deteriorates the meaning of love because it stimulates the idea that sex doesn’t have to be done with someone you have deep feelings for and trust, but in fact a form of easy income for women and easy pleasure for men. This creates the stereotype that women will provide pleasure when they are paid by men.

Rap celebrities are idols who influence the youth to make bad decisions. Since they portray these characteristics of what it’s like to be “cool,” many of their fans follow their misleading footsteps. Because the rappers gain so much revenue from blinding their fans to make bad decisions; changing the lyrics to promote positivity would be inevitable. Unless, going to school or reading a book can be classified as “cool” fans expect sex, drugs, violence, and money to be a part of their everyday lives.

Rick Ross, one of the most influential rappers in today’s society, objectifies women in many of his rap songs. In “No New Friends,” he says, “Smoke good I love life, strip club like erry night.” From this, he’s depicting an image to the youth that life is all about smoking and watching women entertain for money. In another song called, U.O.E.N.O, he says, “Put Molly all in her champagne, she aint even know it. I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain't even know it.” This was by far the one of the most controversial lyrics of all time because she was sexually assaulted and also given an illegal drug. Molly, also known as Ecstasy, is very dangerous because of the toxic mix of unknown chemicals; users have no idea what they're taking or at what dose. Unlike MDMA and other illegal drugs that have known effects on the body, the formulas for these synthetic drugs keep changing, and they're manufactured with no regard to how they affect the user. Rick Ross is a bad influence because he teaches boys that you can easily get pleasure by taking advantage of a woman who is helpless and unconscious.I'm a paragraph.
